How Florida title insurance is priced.
Florida's owner's title insurance premium is tiered by liability amount: $5.75 per $1,000 up to $100,000, $5.00 per $1,000 to $1 million, $2.50 per $1,000 to $5 million, $2.25 per $1,000 to $10 million, and $2.00 per $1,000 above that. When issued simultaneously with the owner's policy, the lender's policy is a flat $25 (Florida promulgated rate). Documentary stamps on the deed are $0.70 per $100 of price; documentary stamps on the note are $0.35 per $100 of loan; intangible tax is $2.00 per $1,000 of loan amount.
